Jay has performed at every type of nightclub, warehouse party, illegal street party,radio station and lounge and is a veteran dj of the circuit.
His signature fusion of Detroit textures and intricate rhythms has pushed him “ahead of everyone else,” according to DJ magazine.His most recent endeavor
is a coveted residency at Vancouver’s new superclub “Fortune Sound Club” where Jay is also the club’s Saturday musical director for the event “Experience”,booking talent such as Osunlade,Chez Damier,Doc Martin,Alix Alvarez,Ron trent and other legendary innovators.Bringing his ear and experience
to lend a hand fueing the musical vision shared by him and club owner Rob Rizk.Jay has also Finished Poker Flat Vol.8 mixed Cd compilation for the highly acclaimed label owned by Steve Bug,it features a blend of deep house ranging into Detroit inspired textures and modern european house tech house fusions that blur genrefication.As a producer Jay has a career spanning over the last 2 decades and Jay Tripwire as a producer has sold over 250,000 vinyl records,
has produced 4 full length albums and has produced over 200 releases and remixes that have appeared on the most regarded labels in the industry.
His productions have been called “a DJ’s dream packed with the finest tools from the trade” by URB, and that he’s
“responsible for some of the most exciting underground house music to come out of North America in recent years” by DJ Magazine.
His recent 8Channels project has inundated the industry with highly acclaimed projects and created a fusion of basic channel,soul and dub into a new hybrid of techno deep house and dub soundscapes that have been winning over label A+R’s,critics and the top djs alike,and have appeared on highly regarded labels such as Pokerflat,Ransom Note,NRK,Halucination,and many many more.
Jay’s productions have been featured on numerous commercially released mix CD’s, notably from Cocoon, Fabric, Renaissance, Journeys by DJ, Ultra & Bedrock by many major artists,and is supported by a diverse spectrum of dance culture from house luminaries such as Doc Martin and Mark Farina
to techno legend Laurent Garnier to progressive innovators as John Digweed and Danny Howells that illustrates Jays long term mass appeal amongst a wide range of dj’s and fans alike. In 2008 Legendary NY based Nervous records released a very special set of re edits Jay had done and he later went on to record a LIVE Mixed cd of all the labels classic material from 1990 to nothing newer than 1995,a distinct honour to choose and mix the music that helped shaped house music for the next 2 decades.
